Horrible performance on 60hz servers

Hi, I have a Ryzen 7 5800x3d and XFX 6800 XT. I spent almost days trying to tweak/optimize my machine. The game is smooth like butter in single player and on community servers.

On the official servers (60 hz ones) the game feels like slow-motion (as if something was choking the performance). My connection, frametime and framerate are great and stable, so I do not understand, wtf is the issue.

Any help is very appreciated!

I am really surprised, how this game's performance was so adored, as I read tens/hundreds of performance issues posts every day.

Here are my specs:

  • Chad-GPT_4 in your last screenshot, simulation (SIM) is dropping below 60fps. This will cause network lag. SIM is processed on the CPU.

Enable Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) and see if that fixes the SIM issue. SMT boosts CPU performance by around 25%.

High CPU usage is normal in Battlefield games. It's only an issue if CPU or SIM is dropping below 60fps.

Here it is, thanks for your help in advance!

The FPS spikes you see in graph are from alt-tabing while making and adjusting screenshot :)

Just a note - I do not have ethernet, so I use USB dongle TP-Link Archer T9UH AC1900. It seems to be working just fine (as the latency is  around 20-30 ms).

Am not sure, if the dongle could be messing up with system latency or if this is some problem on the servers side.

I get quite many latency wariation warnings recently - can I somehow get the server IP to do a traceroute?

I tried pinging Google during play sessions and ping does not go over 20ms

Chad-GPT_4 HWiNFO shows Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) is disabled on the CPU. Core is 8/8 in HWiNFO, instead of 8/16.

Check motherboard BIOS settings to figure out why SMT is disabled. Usually there's a Turbo or Game setting that disabled SMT.

I don't see any other performance issues in your screenshots. You're probably experiencing a network lag related issue.

Please enable the Network Performance Bar and Network Performance Graph and post a screenshot when you experience lag.

The link below explains how to run a traceroute to the game servers.

My CPU usage is abnormally high on official servers. This is screenshot from when quickly moving my mouse through players to spawn on. Notice the latency icon, which sometimes appears when there is some problem with CPU. I also get 85%+ CPU usage the whole game, sometimes staying at 100 and being there resulting in stutter.

Is there some issue with the CPU usage?

Thank you so much! The overall CPU usage is now much lower and game feels smoother. I still feel that it is a bit "slower" compared to portal servers, but I can finally breathe again a bit!
