Lag and packet loss

Hello,

I cant play the game since I have almost permanent packet loss while playing as you can see on that picture :

My computer is quite good with an amd ryzen 9 and a 4070 TI with 32 GO ram. So this is not a performance issue. I've already tried all the optimisation possible in that way since people where saying it could help with the lag (which doesnt make sense but i'm desperate so i'm trying everything)

My internet is totally fine , have a 21 ping in game but still have packet loss. Called my internet operator to make every check possible, nothing is wrong. I have 0 issues playing any other online game. (world of warcraft , league of ledgends , call of duty)
I even tryied to configure some TCP et UDP port for the EA server but didnt changed everything either.

So if i sum up  : Not a config issue , not an internet issue on my side. So could it be a game issue ? EA what can I do to play your game ? I have already paid to play it , how much do I need to work just to make it work ?

Does anyone experience the same issue ? Does anyone fixed this issue ?

  • a72b2736a0678374 hello and welcome to the forums!

This picture explains what the yellow icons in the top left corner of the screen mean.

The 3 rectangles mean the computer framerate is below 60fps.

You can verify this by pressing the tilde key ~ and type this command into BF6 command line console.

    PerfOverlay.DrawFps 1

A framerate counter will appear in the top right corner of the screen. CPU fps is your actual framerate.

If the CPU framerate drops below 60fps the game will start network lagging.

Low framerate is usually caused by low CPU performance. If CPU performance is low, the CPU fps counter in the top right corner of the screen will turn red.

  • Ok my CPU never exced 60% usage while playing , the fps icon never disapears though.

You are telling that i feel some lag , because i cant hit 60 fps with this kind of CPU ? I am very sceptical about that but I maybe missing something ?

If the framerate drops below 60fps then time nudge (TN) will spike and add network lag.

You can verify this by enabling the network performance graph in BF6 settings.

I explain what time nudge is in this post.

There's multiple reasons for low CPU performance. CPU frequency downclocking due to thermal throttling is a common reason on laptops. I would also verify CPU RAM is in dual channel mode with CPU-Z app.
