PC completely shuts down with no warning when playing Battlefield 6

Hello everyone,

I'm facing a critical issue with Battlefield 6 that makes it unplayable. My PC will suddenly and completely shut down with no warning or error message after playing multiplayer for about 5-10 minutes.

This is what I have already tried to fix it:

  • Updated my motherboard BIOS to the latest version.
  • Enabled/disabled Intel VT-x in the BIOS.
  • Adjusted Windows Power Plan settings to High Performance or Balance.

I tried most of the other common solutions found online.

I also wanted to try using Intel XTU (Extreme Tuning Utility) to see if undervolting my CPU would help, but all the core CPU options in XTU are greyed out and I can't make any changes.

At this point, I've run out of ideas and can't play the game until this is resolved. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help!

  • Today has officially been the worst. I spent hours trying to solve a critical issue with Battlefield 6 that makes it completely unplayable. My plan to unwind after a long week was ruined because my PC will suddenly and completely shut down with no warning after just 5-10 minutes of multiplayer.

I tried everything I could think of: I updated my motherboard BIOS to the latest version, toggled Intel VT-x, and switched Windows Power Plan settings between High Performance and Balance. The most frustrating part was when I tried to use Intel XTU to undervolt the CPU as a last resort, only to find all the core options were greyed out.

After exhausting every common solution I could find online, I've completely run out of ideas. All that effort was for nothing, and the only thing I accomplished was writing a formal letter to ask for a refund. It's not just about the money. it’s the complete disrespect for the player's time.

Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned in my original post that I'm on a laptop. I've already ensured it has good ventilation and cooling, and my temperatures are normal.

What's strange is that this issue only happens with Battlefield 6. I've never had this problem with any other game, which makes me think it's not a hardware issue like the PSU or overheating.

Have the exact same issue. Game runs perfectly smooth and the instant reboot comes without warning in the middle of a match. Like a power surge almost. Could it be heat or PSU related?
