After some digging around I have a feeling it’s related to the audio chip. I have two systems. One with a asus b650m-e motherboard with a low end audio chip. It will play just fine for hours.
my other system has a x670e-a motherboard which uses the alc4080 chip which apparently uses the usb bus for communication. I have tried everything to get it to work properly, updating bios, drivers, reinstall. Nothing has helped.
id be interested to know if the people thatbare having the issues are using the alc4080/4082 or whatever else uses the usb bus?
Well my mobo is the X870e Tomahawk which has the same ALC4080 CODEC. Coincidentally, way back in the day I had crashes with Battlefield 3 and it was from the onboard audio chip. When I disabled it, it stopped crashing.
I'm still running my old Soundblaster Zx PCIe card on my current machine (old habits die hard) and onboard audio is again disabled, and I'm still crashing. Might update my BIOS for giggles but I have a lot of custom settings and don't really want to have to set them all again. Or I can just be patient and hope the brain trust at DICE fix this in a timely manner.
