Forum Discussion
Hi everyone,
We’re trying to gather more information about the situation here, where mouse look might feel less smooth than expected, even when the game’s framerate seems fine.
Some players have mentioned that:
- Mouse look feels less smooth than movement with WASD
- Mouse look feels less smooth than looking around with a controller
- Overall, mouse movement feels choppier than your FPS would suggest
If this sounds familiar, it would be very helpful if you could share a few details about your setup:
Please include the following if possible:
- PC Specs: CPU / GPU / RAM / Storage type (SSD/HDD)
- Monitor: Resolution & refresh rate
- Keyboard: Model, any related software installed, polling rate, and whether it has any mode-switching features
- Mouse: Model, any related software installed, polling rate, and if it has any mode-switching features
- Controllers: Any gamepads or similar devices connected
- Other USB Devices: Anything else plugged in that might affect inputs (USB hubs, stream decks, headsets with drivers, etc.)
Thanks in advance. This kind of detail really helps us narrow down what might be going on.
Hey EA_Leeuw,
Here are my specs. Currently playing Season 3 and the mouse issue is still here. It feels like it has gotten worse. There's a noticeable delay when I ADS trying to track people. This wasn't an issue in previous BF games, except 2042 has the issue too. I tested BF3,4, and 5 and they were good. A recent release to compare to that I've played would be Marathon. Aiming and tracking in that game feels great by comparison.
So when I ADS there's that delay when moving the mouse and when you are firing the rate of your turn to follow your target becomes inconsistent. I feel the aim delay in the vehicles as well, especially the helis. I have my FPS locked at 101fps so my game runs consistent.
I've been fighting the game while I'm trying to fight other players and it is wearing me down.

No need for this anymore mate. The issue was finally reproduced by the doofuses over at DICE, and they figured out a fix too...unfortunately, that fix is only available on BF LABS for the moment, and we don't know when they'll bother pushing it over to the Live version of the game.
Just a waiting game now.
There's discussion about it a bit below, but here's a recent tweet from Florian about it if you don't wanna scroll:

I think I hate the jabronis over at DICE and EA. I truly hope they never find matching socks ever again, the whole lot of them.

Alright thanks for the heads up man. Hopefully they finally get this thing implemented sooner than later.
