Recon Specialist 2 Challenge DOES NOT WORK

The Recon Specialist 2 assignment is broken. I for the life of me cannot get the laser designated damage to go up no matter what I do in Conquest.

I've sat in HQ and laser designated dozens of tanks and helicopters, watched them receive damage from missiles, RPG, laser designated launchers, bullets, WHILE THE TARGET IS PAINTED THE ENTIRE TIME. I AM LOOKING THROUGH THE LASER, ACTIVELY MAKING SURE THE TARGET IS PAINTED AND NOT A SINGLE POINT OF DAMAGE COUNTS TOWARDS THE CHALLENGE. I am watching the assist points in the bottom right corner go up while these targets are painted and go down. 

I have even taken the laser dart, darted a tank, and then C4 it myself, no luck.

Painted a attack heli, shoot at it with a DMR for vehicle damage points, NOTHING WORKS.

And no I don't have friends to help me pull through this challenge, you shouldn't need assistance to finish a basic class designated challenge. Every youtube video I watch makes it look so easy, and it really should be, just for some reason all these assist points are not counting towards that number.

Please look into revamping or changing the parameters of this challenge cause something is truly off here whether its the verbage of the challenge or the back end parameters.

Also if anyone has any other suggestions to try I'm all ears
