Battle pass skips only work on your currently active path. Prestige is a completely separate final path that only unlocks after you finish Ultimate. You have to finish Ultimate first, switch to Prestige, then buy/apply skips if you want to speed it up. So the extra 6 skips were wasted because Prestige wasn’t active.
EA explains it really poorly they just say progress the path you’re playing or something.. so tons of people get hit with the exact same thing. Support almost never refunds coins or gives free skips on this. You’re not alone on this one unfortunately.
It’s bad marketing and terrible UX but the law treats battle-pass coins as virtual currency with almost no buyer protection. You’re not the first (or 50th) person this has happened to and EA knows it. If you want to push it, mention consumer rights in your next support ticket, but don’t get your hopes up for a refund.
You could also Chargeback through your bank/credit card if you bought the coins recently for Highest success rate, but EA’s standard response is to ban or restrict the account. They explicitly warn about this...
Ya see the same complaint everywhere and EA doesn’t care because the amounts are tiny to them. They’d rather let support reply with copy-paste “intended behaviour” messages and hope most players just eat the loss. Most people just move on because it’s £6–8, but the fact that it’s tiny is exactly why a proper company would just fix it automatically. EA chooses not to. Classic.
Reply to your EA support ticket with something like:
Under the consumer protection laws of [your country] this purchase was misleading because there was no clear information that tier skips would not carry over to the Prestige path. This is a widespread issue with zero clear explanation in the Battle Pass UI or store page. Please refund the coins or grant the missing Prestige skips.”
