Spatial Audio not recognized (3D Audio)

Can't activate spatial audio for some reason. The game is badly coded when it comes to device recognition, so it won't accept external audio interfaces.

One fix for some is to switch to windows sonic in windows, then select 3D audio in game and then you switch to Dolby or DTS. Not sure if it works with audio interfaces too. I need to do some testing.

  • I might have found a fix? I just accidentally had spatial audio of when launching the game, went into audio setting, tabbed out and enabled Dolby Atmos and now it looks like this (see pic). I can leave the audio setting and go back in and it's still enabled. Very weird. Hope this helps someone.

Does anyone know if the devs is going to fix the audio issue?

This is literally the only game in my library not capable of working with surround, or atmos.

Super frustrating. I can switch out of the game. Watch movies in Atmos, play other games in atmos or in some only supporting 5.1 i get surround.

But bf6 can only give me mono. So its not my setup cause every other title works no issues. Based on the error ingame it seems something is hardcoded to want a audio jack to recognise what audio device u have. It ignores hdmi as audio output and falla back to basics.

  • So I fixed my issue and now the game displays Spatial 3D Audio as enabled.

I had to go into my sound device and go down to Audio Enhancements and make sure Device Default Effects was turned on. If that option is set to "Off" Spatial 3D reverts to 3D Headphones.

Aside from that make sure 24 bit 48KHz is set nothing above that works either.

  • FOUND IT!!

    1. enable windows sonic for headphones

    2. Check sample rate: For Normal Use: Go to audio properties, select your headphones, go to advanced, select 48000 hz studio quality.

For External Audio Interface: change sample rate to 48000 from the audio interface App

    3. If nothing happens make sure that sonic for headphones is enabled and re check the steps

    4. Enjoy!
