Squad unable to get a game
Subject: Persistent Cross-Play Squad Matchmaking Failure – PS5 & Xbox Series X
Platform: PlayStation 5 (Sender) & Xbox Series X (Squadmates) Game: Battlefield 6 Frequency:80% of matches (8 out of 10)
Issue Description: I am writing to formally report a critical failure in the cross-play squad matchmaking system. I play on PS5, and I have a consistent squad of three friends who play on Xbox Series X. Despite playing every night, we are unable to successfully enter matches as a full squad.
In 8 out of 10 attempts, the matchmaking process fails for one or more members of the group. Common symptoms include:
- The squad leader enters the game while others are left at the main menu.
- One or more players receive a "Connection Timed Out" or "Server Disconnected" error while the rest of the squad loads in.
- The squad is disbanded automatically during the loading transition.
Impact on Player Experience: We are dedicated players who play nightly, but this issue has become a major deterrent. We spend more time troubleshooting and reforming the lobby than actually playing the game. As a long-term Battlefield fan, it is disappointing that a core feature like cross-platform squad play—which is heavily marketed—remains this unstable months after launch.
Steps Taken:
- Confirmed all players have NAT Type 2 (Open/Moderate).
- All squad members have cross-play enabled in system and game settings.
- We have tried rotating the squad leader between PS5 and Xbox players; the result remains the same.
- All consoles are using wired LAN connections.
Requested Action: I would like to know if this is a recognized "Known Issue" by the development team and if there is a specific internal ticket number tracking a fix for cross-platform squad synchronization. We would appreciate a direct response rather than a generic troubleshooting link, as we have already exhausted standard network fixes.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response
