For what it’s worth I was playing this game on Tuesday night and every night just fine. Went to play on Thursday night and was getting this error. I tried all the dumb dns things and after searching more I ended up here. I’ve only ever had one EA account, I play with steam linked to that ea account, tried even installing the EA app on my PC, unlinking and linking my account, nothing worked.
watching how “helpful” support was on this, I didn’t bother. I did one simple thing and I was able to immediately sign in.
my steam name is MisterZoltek and my ea name was zoltek. I changed my ea name to MisterZoltek and literally the next time I started the game up I got in.
could be a weird coincidence, could be what solved my problem, may be worth a shot for anyone here
THIS IS THE SOLUTION. I had this issue for the past 4 days after the 1.1.1.0 patch. I changed my EA account name to the same exact name i have on Steam. (if the EA name is already taken, make a new one and match it to your Steam profile name). As soon as i made the change, it loaded me right in.
I cant do that because my Steam name is already taken by my own account and i cant change it to it because of that and i cant change accounts till April
