Steam Remote play on the Steam deck constantly firing gun

I tried remote play for the first time on the steam deck. It all works fine, it picks up my steam deck as a controller and all the menus work absolutely fine.

If I go into a game or into the firing range, my gun constantly fires. It is nothing to do with the controller buttons as they work fine. I noticed the buttons switch to keyboard keys on the overlay when shooting, then when reloading it goes back to buttons. If I tap the touch screen, it stops, until I register another movement with the joysticks or buttons. 

Is there a fix for this?
