Weapon challenges not giving rewards

I cannot equip or use the NVO-228E Assault Rifle after completing the relevant challenge RAPID FIRE 2. The same is true for the SCW-10 SMG and the CLOSE QUARTERS 1 challenge. Oddly, I do have access to subsequent weapons; the L85A3 from RAPID FIRE 3 and the SL9 from CLOSE QUARTERS 2.

I also have the same issue with the Elite Support badge.
