I am experiencing frequent crashes while playing Battlefield 6 on my Xbox Series X (purchased February 2022). The game often crashes (after playing from 5 to 10 minutes) to the Xbox desktop or occasionally causes the console to shut down with a black screen. This occurs in both multiplayer matches and single player campaign, as well as during map selection in custom search.
I have tried both Performance and Fidelity graphics modes.
Other demanding games on my console (Battlefield 2042, Forza Horizon 4/5, Microsoft Flight Simulator, NHL series, Mafia: Definitive Edition) run for hundreds of hours without crashing, so I don't think it's an issue with my console.
I have already reset my console to factory settings and confirmed the latest updates from Xbox and Battlefield are installed. Please advise if there are any known issues or workarounds, or if there is a fix planned. I really want to play this game as a BF 20+ years veteran.
EA. THIS IS THE FIRST GODDAMN GAME I HAVE PHYSICALLY BOUGHT IN YEARS. I WAS SO HYPE. THIS GODDAMN THING KEEPS CRASHING MY XBOX. FIX THIS.

I believe its your Xbox that's causing the issue. My friend has two xbox series x i (believe the pro verison... ) I'm on pc.
However my friends xbox keeps crashing.... but his wifes xbox same model but newer version--- > works perfectly fine and **NO ISSUES WHAT SO EVER***. Her xbox is a newer version he bought for her this year. His Xbox, (version) is two years old and on his, it's causing his console to shut off completely, and be completely unrealable.
(solution:)
My suggestion.... Buy a newer version of xbox series x from costco or bestbuy. Test and see if it works / runs fine on that newer device. if it does... then it's the consoles problem... not EA.... If you decide to return the electronic Device... you may have to pay restock fee so (BUYER BEWARE!!!) Sorry this happened to you, but I truly believe it's A Microsoft's issue... and i don't think it's EA fault.- THENEWPANDA212 months agoSeasoned Novice
its EA, my friend just bought a whole new console bc he thought it was his too, nope game crashed even more on the newer console, Series X he needed a new one anyway but very disappointed, my game also crashes too but it only seems to happen when crossplay is on, i crash less without crossplay on and did 3 hour sessions with one crash at the main menu, turn crossplay on to play with friends first 5 minutes in a game crash, its something with EA, bc 2042 had the same issue with crashing and thats why it fell apart, they never fixed it from launch

Yeah I had seen a few saying it is a hardware issue but this is why I am so extremely sceptical that the way to play this game is to go out and buy a newer console just in hopes that the game would work and if your friend just went out and bought a new one and still don't work then this is very concerning. I really wanted to play BF6 and with friends that were planning on doing months in advance being on different platforms and on xbox but even with cross play on or off it still crashed to home screen or just turn see a green flash then console off completely. Same issues when the beta was available. I would be surprised to start a match and manage to see the end of it because it crashes within 20 minutes at best but most times its within 5 mins or I even crash just loading up the menu at times which was even more confusing. Luckily I got a refund last week and been trying to keep an eye on updates like this or anything from EA themselves if there is any answers or suggestions on if they are planning to fix it or if there is anything we could do that has not been attempted or said on this entire thread but still unfortunately nothing I can see. Like it seems weird some are playing fine but some are not from what we all have been experiencing here but the answer should not be to go buy the newest version of the console in gamble that the console you bought will let BF6 play without it crashing to this extreme.

My brother in Christ, this is an EA issue. Everyone who I know that has this issue (myself included) only has this issue with EA games.

But why should we have to buy the same console again

Exactly I have played so many other games. This is a brand new Xbox series x! Battlefield 2042 in battlefield 6 both have given me nothing but headaches of crashing my system even after 5 minutes of play. They can't say it's an overheating problem cuz I've actually got a fan on this brand new Xbox series x and it still does it
