battlefield 1 cant click anything at menu (gamebreaking)

so about 3 months ago my game stopped working, i used to be able to load battlefield 1, get to the menu, and play, but now when i load it i can see my mouse cursor and when i click on anything it does absolutely nothing, very frustrating to say the least, i have tried reinstalling, repairing, and alt tabbing in and out into the game, i want this fixed or i want a refund.

    @MICRYLEE

    No one at Answer HQ has any refund responsibilities whatsoever, sorry!  We do not "fix" any games here, other than our own.  What we do is offer peer to peer advice.  We are a game player community here.

    That being said, the only times I'm aware of the menus and the pointers in them being "dead" is related to some very low end hardware situations (typically very outdated Intel IGP chips).

    This guide applies to any game, NOT limited to just the DA: I game at all:

    @MICRYLEE

    If your system didn't ever qualify for technical support, and a miracle allowed you to play the game in spite of being unsupported, *we* certainly aren't the ones to complain to when the magical effects of the miracle expire, sorry!

    Hello @MICRYLEE

    I am really sorry for those troubles with the game. Can you try to load your system with Clean Boot and run the game afterwards? Keep us posted on your progress.

    Cheers,

    Archi

    That being said you have yet to disclose your system specs, so what are they to include your OS?

  • Plug a controller of some kind into your computer (I used DS4 Windows). I had the same problem... I reinstalled the game, ran it in compatibility ect. nothing worked but I ran into an old post with the same problem on other BF games and seen an answer to just plug in a controller. Thus I did and could navigate the menu instantly and then my mouse worked! So that's the best I can tell you good luck!

  • i see you posted this far ago but i saw this now i had that same issue and i tried playing with a controler and than switching to mouse and that worked

  • Okay so I had the same problem. I reinstalled origin to make sure its not the overlay messing around and also plugged my mouse and keyboard into different USB ports and that worked for me. If you get the error message telling you that you dont meet minimum specs then just open task manager and end the message box and your menu should respond again. If it doesn't work I don't know any other solution. Maybe put your PC in a woodchipper?

    The OP hasn´t been online for months, so I´m going to close this topic because of Necroposting.

    Please feel free to create a new topic if you have issues with BF1.

    Thank you 🙂
