Battlefield 1 forces me to reboot after freezing shortly after launch

As the title states, every time I start Bf1, after roughly 20 - 30 seconds my PC freezes completely and I have to turn it off/on again. I also had the same issue with the Bf6 beta.

Possible fixes that I tried and didn't work:

repaired Bf1

cleared cache of the EA-App

deinstalled both the game and the EA-App

tried to launch on an older set of drivers, same result

sfc scannow

made sure that Windows Defender doesn't interfere

clean boot, according to ea instructions

Exempted BF1 from Exploit-protection

System Specs:

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT

Kingston 32GB 2400 Mhz

I have read about quite a few people with similar issues, but haven't seen a working fix yet. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
