Battlefield 3 premium redemption code and too young

we bought battlefield 3 premium edition for xbox360.  When trying to play multiplayer it states too young!! also, when trying to redeem the code within the game it stated that the code had already been redeemed!! The game was brand new.  Anyone have any suggestions on what to do about 'too young' and the code?  help would be appreciated.
