I agree the Doughboy M1911 should've been on my list too since it is a gun and not just a skin, so thanks for catching that. Also getting the community missions back for the anniversary with maybe a special 10th anniversary dog tag would be really cool.
EA_Leeuw you mentioned BF1 is your favorite Battlefield, so is there any chance you could get this idea to the right people at EA/DICE? The reddit post on BF1 subreddit got 850+ upvotes, so there are definitely a lot of people who would like to see this happen.
I think this would be an awesome update for the community, especially with so many newer BF1 players who never got a chance to see or earn this stuff. I think BF1's 10th anniversary would be the perfect time to bring these unobtainable content back with a small final update.
Even if new assignments aren't possible, just unlocking these unobtainable weapons for everyone as a 10th anniversary gift would be really great for the game. Thanks.
I am optimistic that DICE will bring back everything that was available for a limited time; it is a very simple matter—hardly worth calling a "project." They might be busy with BF6, but they will return to BF1. I remain optimistic because the game is excellent and doesn't deserve such neglect, and they are well aware of that.
The real "project" would simply be an update to fix a few minor bugs and the addition of a Battle Pass to BF1.
I hope they bring them back permanently with new permanent assignments. They should leave the game in a state where all previous content is available. BF1 is already a decade old (57 days remain) so I don't think there is a reason to gate keep content anymore. Even if making new assignments was not practical, they could add the melees in battlepacks and unlock the guns for all players. Because currently these weapons are impossible to obtain. I really hope they'll give BF1 one last update.
I don't think they'll have the time or resources for BF1 bug fixes. There are a lot of bugs and issues with BF6 so I think they'll just focus on that for now. Also BF1 uses a different version of frostbite so it might be more challenging for the current devs even if they wanted to.

I’m on PS5, but unfortunately, I can't find any players when I search. I’m missing just one piece for the Russian Axe, and I still haven't managed to get it
yes you can but it depends on having an active operations campaign. if they don't start one then you can't get them. I think with the current system someone at DICE has to start them manually so it would be great if they can automate it on a weekly timer or if they could put those puzzle pieces in regular battlepacks so it is not dependent on a operations campaign.
