Hello EA_cuervo,
Thank you for replying. To be honest, I haven´t had this issue since, however some performance issues remain:
- Occassional FPS drops
- Similar PC freezes as before when running other applications (e.g. Brave browser)
- When Alt-tabbing during Operations matchmaking, the game becomes unresponsive as the campaigns intro videos load. The narration can be heard, but the screen remains black, doesn´t progress, and doesn´t respond to keyboard input (incl. the usual press and hold to 'skip')
I am wondering whether the 1.st is caused server side.
2. and 3. might be related though, and also another form of the same issue as before. I often use Brave to watch videos as well. I am wondering if there is something with the NVIDIA drivers that causes hardware acceleration issue with video playback. On Linux, on the same machine, I don´t have such issues at all, so the hardware can be ruled out.
Hi Wasserblaffer,
Thanks for the additional details. This may be difficult to pinpoint, as similar freezes also happen outside BF1. Since it only occurs on Windows, it could be related to a driver, hardware acceleration, or another software conflict. A clean NVIDIA driver installation and disabling hardware acceleration in Brave may help narrow it down.

Done that, and I don't play BF1 with Brave running in the background anymore. Black screen on intro video still occurs, and does so consistently.
