Whenever I load into a game of BF1, after a minute or 2 I am booted from the server and greeted with the message "You have lost connection to the session". This has been going on for a month now, and I cannot find a fix. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and repairing the game but to no avail and it's quite a shame as I never used to have this issue before... Does anybody know a workaround so I can play this game again or should I give up on it smh
This problem started appearing the first time on the 11th of May. Every time I connect in Battlefield 1 to an official DICE server I get disconnected within a time period of 1-10 minutes, usually 1-2 minutes. This issue does not occur though on community/rented servers which is also the only option I have right now.
The specific error I'm getting is ''You have lost the connection to the session'' (will attach a screenshot and a video).
I have exhausted all the the troubleshooting steps on EA's website with no success, like router/modem restart and reset. Clearing the chache in EA App, reinstalling the app and all the games, including repairing games.
I have even tested 4 individual ISPs to no avail. Not even VPN has helped.
A few weeks ago I even formatted both my desktop and laptop, fresh windows install and drivers only, no bloatware but the issue still occurs. In order to rule out both of my decvices being at fault, I even built a new PC and installed windows, drivers and Battlefield 1 but the same issue occurs, I get disconnected within 1-2 minutes.
So I decided to test my secondary account on all 3 devices I have and was able to play just fine without getting disconnected.
This leads me to believe that the disconnect issue is bound to my main account only (the one I'm currently typing you this message from).
So on all machines playing with my main account results in a disconnect, while using the secondary account no disconnects happen and everything works as intended.
I do want to mention again that playing with my main account on community/rented servers works. It's only the official ones that cause the issue.
From my research that I've done while troubleshooting, I stumbled accross some old EA HQ threads were this issue happened in 2017 but got fixed rather quickly by DICE.
After these tedious 5 months I came to the conclusion that it's just a connection issue on EA's side regarding my main account.
I have contacted EA support 14-15 times already and every time I got told the issue was passed on to the technical team but there is still no fix in sight.
I have seen this Reddit post and tried changing the compatibility of the game file but it still doesn't work. I don't know what else to do. What seems strange to me is that I can play on North American servers without an issue, but I'd prefer to play on the EU servers since I live in the UK, so I can still play BF1 on NA servers but just need to face the high levels of ping unfortunately.
Unfortunately, there is nothing much I can tell you except to talk to EA support for a possible solution. The usual game reinstall does the trick to be totally honest.
@neoforo87OMG I thought it was just me as well and thank you for your response. I see you have performed extensive workaround for this, way more than I have, but still can't seem to fix it. It appears as though a 2nd account will have to be used in this case. Have you tried playing on other servers outside of the one you use? Because I seem to be able to play game after game on other servers but just cannot last 1 minute in an EU server lol
@neoforo87 I will give a secondary account try later on when I get home... really frustrating since I never had this issue before, why is it happening now smh
