Downloading BF4 from steam and EA in the same PC

Hey! I got battlefield 4 installed from EA App and my brother has bought the game from steam, both of us play in the same computer but the game files are conflicting, since i cant open the game on EA when he downloads it from steam (even when EA version was already downloaded) it says that i have an incompatible version of the game and that i should reinstall it. Will i really need to reinstall the game every time that each one of us play?
