EA is a hypocrite

I posted a post awhile back, with a DIRECT QUOTE from the game, which included several F-bombs, talking about how I DIDN'T WANT CURSING IN THE GAME.

Guess what? EA deleted the post for "objectional content" because they don't allow cursing in the forums.

BUT IT WAS THEIR OWN CURSING.

The whole problem is that THERE IS cursing F-words in the game that YOU CAN'T TURN OFF.

QUOTE FROM THE GAME:

QUOTE:
"Get your f****ing act together guys!! What the F*** are you thinking?"

... and it says these curse words, cursing directly at me, OVER AND OVER AND OVER, LIKE 3 to 5 TIMES A MINUTE.

SO IN OTHER WORDS, YOU (EA) DON'T TOLERATE CURSING, BUT YOU ARE ALLOWED TO CURSE AT US IN THE GAME???

Hypocrites.

I don't even want to play this game anymore until:

1) Cursing is removed from the game, or

2) They give me the voiceover files for foreign languages so at least I won't be able to understand when the game is cursing at me with F-words.

Solely because of the cursing, I have avoided playing the game much at all. BECAUSE BESIDES THE CURSING IT'S ACTUALLY PROBABLY THE BEST FPS GAME OUT THERE RIGHT NOW, IN MY OPINION.

In only a couple hours of playing, I heard more F-words then I have heard TOTAL, FOR MY ENTIRE LIFE.

I'm not going to continue to subject my mind to this continual personal attacks and moral degredation FROM PRE-RECORDED FILES IN THE GAME.

It makes me FEEL AWFUL WHEN I HAVE THIS GAME VOICE CURSING AT ME WITH THE F-WORD CONSTANTLY!!!

  • OP this is a community run self help tech forum so we are unable to assist with the issue that you have since the majority of us do not work for EA and this is for technical problems with the game.  Also, the game is rated M for mature in the states, PEGI 16 in the UK and 18+ in Germany which is the equivalent to an "R" rating from the motion pictures association.  Since DICE strives for realism in it's games foul language being used by soldiers in combat is a fact - as a combat arms veteran of the Iraq conflict I can personally vouch for the type of lanuage soldiers use in combat especially under fire.

Since DICE does not have an option to turn off the profanity in BF3, and nor will they add it since BF3's development is over as they are currently working on BF4 you have two options:  you can play BF3 and try to ignore the profanity or you can decide not to play BF3.  If profanity is a hard stopping point for you I recommend that you wait and see if BF4 has the option to turn off the profanity should you wish to purchase that game.

Well the difference is that I am not a soldier! Sure when people are actually getting blown up and dying in real life, maybe some strong language is warranted. However, this is just a game, and no one is actually getting physically hurt or dying in Real Life; and I am most other players are civilians, so there is no cause to be cursed at constantly.

It is morally degrading and entirely uncalled for. It turned a game that would have been a 9 (1-10 scale) into a 5 game that I don't even want to turn on.

And you can be certain that I won't be buying Battlefield 4, solely for this issue.

It's not really hypocritical to want users to talk nicely to each other in the game while the game has an artistic vision of showing a realistic version of how soldiers talk in real life. That would wrongly infer that EA condone the rough language of soldiers.

I personally don't condone people shooting each other, that doesn't mean I find it hypocritical to play a game where I shoot people.

Now I don't know why you are so angry as this, it must surely be clear that the feature you request is so rarely sought after that it is not finansially viable to implement. If you are really offended by this you should request a "no bad language" setting for BF4 and try to get as many as you can to support you, if enough say they wont buy a game if it has bad language then EA can do something - I think it will make the game tame and probably oppose you but that's life 🙂

Please accept solutions if they are correct and press the XP button if somebody helped you. This way you help others in the same situation.

    Cheers

You stated that the game is rated "M', and that the bad language is OK.

Is there another choice? Do they offer the game in "E", "T" ratings?

No! They don't, but their target market is 12 to 22 year olds not just 17+ ("M").

EA just require all of your games to have the option to filter it out, or just "beep" it out.
