Invalid license. Missing DLL 0x000000c1

I am having this error message after pressing play in origin. I recently downloaded battlefield 3 and all of the available expansions. At first I had some problems installing Direct X, but those issues seems to be fixed.

My copy of the game is electronic and I have a premium account. It worked before but I uninstalled Battlefield 3 a couple months ago.

I've found several people reporting the same problem, and I've tried everything.

This is a conversation of February 2012  between support and a player.

Biswajeet:
you received a valid license key, it will be located in your Program Data folder. To delete the impacted files:
1.Go to C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License
2.Delete either 71067.dll or 71069.dll. (The available .dll will vary depending on whether the customer has the standard or limited edition of the game.)
3.Reboot the machine.
4.Launch Origin.
5.Attempt to launch Battlefield 3

you: I have tried that

you: it still didnt work

Biswajeet:
If you have updated your drivers and still get this error, you must make sure that the DirectX features for your video card are enabled.
1.Click on Start.
2.Click on Run...
3.Type dxdiag into the box.
4.Click OK.
5.Click on the Display tab.
6.Find the DirectX Features box.
7.The first feature is DirectDraw Acceleration. It should say Enabled next to it. If it says Disabled, click the Enable button.
8.The second feature is Direct3D Acceleration. It should say Enabled next to it. If it says Disabled, click the Enable button.
9.The third feature is AGP Texture Acceleration. It should say Enabled next to it. If it says Disabled, click the Enable button.
10.Once all three are enabled, close the window.

you: yes all 3 is enabled

Biswajeet: Please give me just a moment while I look into this further.

Biswajeet:
Method 1: Download and then install the latest version of DirectX
To resolve this problem, download and then install the*latest version of DirectX*End-User Runtimes Web Installer.

Method 2: Manually copy the file
To resolve this issue, copy the XAPOFX1_5.dll file from the disc 1 CD/DVD of the game CD/DVD pack to the corresponding game folder. To do this, follow the appropriate steps for your version of Windows:

Biswajeet:
Windows 7 or Windows Vista*
1. Insert the disc 1 CD/DVD for your game into the CD/DVD drive of the computer.
2. Click Start, and then click Documents.
3. Locate and then click Computer.
4. Locate and then click the CD/DVD drive.
5. Locate and then click the following folder:
CDDrive: DirectX9
Note In this path, CDDrive represents the drive letter of the CD drive.
6. Double-click Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x86.cab, right-click XAPOFX1_5.dll , and then click Copy.
Note Use the Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x64.cab file for the x64-based version of the Windows operating system.
7. Locate the following folder for your game:
Drive:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesGame Title

Biswajeet:
Note In this path, Drive represents the drive letter on which the game is installed, and Game Title represents the game that you want to repair.
8. Right-click the game folder that corresponds to the game that is installed on the computer, and then click Paste.

Note If you have installed more than one game on the computer, repeat steps 7and 8 for the other games.

you: when i run that it says i have equivalent or newer version of direct x

you: and i dont have a dvd of the game as i bought it on origin as digital copy

Biswajeet: Than please try do a Origin Clear Cache.

Biswajeet: I would suggest you to clear your Origin Cache. In order to clearing your Origin cache, follow the steps mentioned below:

Biswajeet: 2.Select the Settings option

None of these solved my problem. The only solution I've heard of for this problem is totally formatting your computer, and then reinstall windows.

I was hoping that you might have a better solution to the problem?

    Bump.

Please help. I paid a decent amount for this game and I'd really appreciate some support when thing's are not working.

This error seems like a quite common error, so I don't understand why there's no solution at all.

Some people claimed that when support updated the CD-key to a new one (or gave a new license) the problems stopped.

I don't know but any kind of help would really be appreciated.

    Hi ravndal93,

This error message indicated that a required .dll file is missing on your computer.

At first, please make sure that all available Windows Updates are installed. Then, download and install .Net Framework 4 and .Net Framework Update 4.5 and the Direct X End User Runtime (Full Installer).

This should install the missing .dll file on your computer. Please restart once everything was installed.

If it doesn't help, then maybe check this answer to a similar question in Microsoft's Community board.

Let us know how it goes 🙂

For all those guys who are having the above problem, while launching bf3.exe

I found a simple solution, the above problem arises because of .dll files, you need to download dll files from their offical website but the most important thing is that if you are using x64 bit of windows either 7,8,8.1.... download dll file of x32 bit and place it in the game dictionary... more over if some have the problem of mouse shall download battlefield boardless

thats to all, and i hope this might help...........
