We need a true sequel to BF2142 but I think 2042 has ruined the futuristic vibe for a lot of players for now so I doubt we will see a futuristic battlefield for a while.
Shame, because I thought it was a far better battlefield game than BF2.

It’s frustrating because BF2042 leaves a bitter taste in people's mouths when they think about "the future, but that is exactly why we need a true BF2142 sequel now more than ever.
The biggest mistake is comparing the two.
BF2042 felt hollow, but the original BF2142 had a soul, a gritty atmosphere, and a level of tactical depth that even BF2 couldn't match.
