Welcome to the club. They haven't even acknowledged it's a problem!
I've spent hours with EA technical "support", who are an absolute joke to say the least. This is gonna sound crazy, but ive tried updating everything, and talking to support including getting rather hateful with them. Today I switched my graphics card to an old 3870 and guess what. The **bleep** ran, it ran badly but it ran with no crashes. Im wondering if my 6970s bad or are the 13.9 drivers different for a 3870 and 6970. what do you guys think. how can i test my 6970.

Please try turning off Ambient Occlusion, as suggested by lxgfusionfoe before (thanks!) over here:
- Right click on desktop-> Nvidia Control panel
- From 3D Settings go to Manage 3D settings
- In the Global Settings tab, set the Ambient occlusion to Off
- In the Program Settings tab, set the Ambient occlusion to Off
It was already off, just patch it already EA/Dice. No reason I should have to play sub-par graphics to avoid a crash you DIDN'T FIX DURING BETA, MIND YOU IS WHY I GOT PREMIUM IN THE FIRST PLACE, PRE-ORDERED!!! when my pc can run ULTRA just fine...I get the best ultra graphics experience on singleplayer, which is extremely beutiful, you sure know your graphics, best graphics on a game i've ever seen, but WHY Should I REDO A DAMN LEVEL and have my IMMERSION RUINED by a random-ass DIRECT X NOT SUPPORTED crash, heh...immersion, why I got a pc is the first place....Why the FBLEEPCK do I have to be REMINDED OF REAL LIFE just because of YOUR FBLEEPINGCKING BUG YOU HAVE NOT UP TIL NOW GIVEN A BLEEP ABOUT.
I found my problem with this error yesterday, and id like to formally apologize to EA for being an **bleep**. Turns out my card was overheating. Played for about 3 hours now with no problems. Its a beautiful game.
still crashes with underclock
Try turning your fan speed up Maze. Also if your psu is stressed you will get the same error.

I just started getting it again.... Last time I just have to update my driver. I have tried what you suggested, still not working... help!

I have seen the message just one time, on Dec 19th after having the Nvidia Geforce Experience change the graphic settings for BF4 (from medium to High and sometimes even Ultra).
The problem did not occur again so far, so it might be solved with the BF4 patch of Dec 20th. If it does, I'm going to lower some video settings again..

THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH BF AND ORIGIN/EA WHO EVER, YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR AN UPDATE FROM THEM, ALWAYS HAVE BUGS

I have this error as well on GTX680. Please note Ambient Occlusion is Off as default.
I am also having this problem. I've had DirectX errors before but this past week I've been getting them at least 4-5 times a day, give or take a few, depending on how much play time I get. I've done a fresh install of windows, changed my drives numerous times, monitored my computers temperature to make sure it wasn't overheating, and since I'm also having my entire computer crash when I play BF4, I sent my video card back to the manufacturer since it was still under warranty but I'm still crashing and now have had an enormous increase in number of DirectX errors. I have no idea what's causing the DirectX errors or the computer crashes but if I can't get these problems fixed soon I'm going to go back to playing BF3 until they get BF4 out of this beta crap we're all having to deal with.Has anyone tried anything else lately?
It seems like once it starts, it happens more frequently.
I've tried everything on this thread and others I've found. It's quite ridiculous.
Will EA ever address this? Because I'd really like to play!
My Ambient Occlusion is off and I still get GetDeviceRemovedReason error..
Please fix this..I am sick of BF4 crashing because of this error...
My Graphics card is EVGA GTX 780ti

hey i have the same issue and the same graphics gard do you even fixed it ?
The last two times my crashed with this dreaded error was between maps. That's something new for me.
FIX THIS ERROR EA/DICE....... PLEASE!
Have you checked your GPU temps?
I haven't had any crashes since I turned up my fan speed so heat might be a cause of some crashes, I have a 660TI.
