Re: Community Server Under Attack by DDOS from China

@DavlosREE Sorry to hear about this, it must be incredibly unpleasant for you, and spoils your enjoyment.

However, you would need to raise this issue with the company you have rented the server from, as it's not provided by EA.

  • Hi Elliot,

That isn't true at all. The core issue pinpointed by the server provider was on the Blaze backend which EA uses to connect to Battlelog, and it's the weak link which makes it easy for DDOSers to get their way.

Please escalate this to management because it's enabling criminals to swindle new BF4 players of their money.

@DavlosREE I checked with a Community Manager before replying, and that was the response given. Sorry that I can do nothing further to help you.

If the backend Blaze causing such trouble then it is EA's job to troubleshoot. Btw it is still going on - now on multiple EU servers! https://petition.tne.ovh/

    That is correct @co0ga ,

Especially if we talk about a PlayStation based server!

Then ALL support to the end user on having that server running correctly is legally assigned to EA's responsibility.  EA may have outsourced their  BF4 server hosting function to one of their business partners, but that is then for EA themselves to figure out.  We being EA customers are only to go to EA direct to get the server hosting problem solved.

And yes, I also can confirm that from the EA server hosting partner for Europe for the BF4 PlayStation environment.  And they also confirm this issue to be linked to something on EA's own internal backend.  (referred to as BLAZE in other posts...)

Hi @czarnuch1983 I'm a volunteer rather than an employee I'm afraid. However I do know that it's something EA are aware of and I imagine, and hope, it's something they are working on. I guess it's a complex issue to fix or it wouldn't still be happening so regularly.

    Hi @czarnuch1983 ,

I have exact the same problem.

Now I do though have the legal team from SONY Europe to support me and let there be zero doubt:  Sony has no responsibility what so ever for the availability or service/support of the EA BF4 servers running the BF4 application in the PlayStation environment!

And certainly for the server hosting/support for the PlayStation environment, then we the consumers/users/renters are all to go direct to EA for this support.  We are NOT to goto the server hosting partner that EA have outsourced this to.  Heck, officially we don't even know who they are, so how could we?  :o)   That is an absolute again certain thing legally and regulatory firm thing to keep in mind.

And despite this, I have now at multiple occasions being diverted by the EA Support helpdesk, telling me to have to contact Sony or the Server hosting partner to get my server crashing problem solved.

Not so!  It is matter of fact wrong!

And very infuriating to be honest, that EA Support gives such direct wrong information.

I am happy to pull out copies of the support chat interactions, where these direct wrong things have been pushed onto me.

I have repeatedly provided this also in my feedback on the Support Tickets, but despite this, it still goes on to this day...
