The epic 'only in Battlefield' moments!
Which BF version(s) do you consider the best in offering the epic only-in-Battlefield moments?
Going Rambo in Locker or Metro in BF3 or BF4 certainly offered many of those, but most crazy events were typically on the large scale maps with mix of vehicles involved. I dont find that neither BF1 or BFV delivered on what is to be expected from a true Battlefield game. Yes a WW1 or WW2 vehicle have maybe more limited options. But the animations are horrible. And the ability to just stay inside your vehicle and repairing it is awful. We need the strategy component back into the gameplay, where you need to leave your vehicle to repair it from outside. Camping tankers in BFV are no good. The BF4 game got this much more correct in terms of balance and having modern vehicles.
The variations, the specialized loadouts. Fun and easy for everybody to do in BF4. Some maps had many vehicles yes, but that is also great that all gets a chance to join in for the fun in large scale battles Maybe the refill requirement back in base as in BFV is better option than BF4, where a good team could keep the attack heli raging forever in Shanghai.
We need to have instant animations, so you can eject from the vehicle. Enabling the many only-in-BF moments. But agreed, a penalty for bailing out should be imposed, also to hamper the abusive sniper taxis. And consider a reward for the enemies forcing the bail.
The planes in BFV are boring and tanks the worst of any BF version...
We want the options, the choices back! We want the speed and mobility back!
Aka in BF4 the MBT and IFV tanks could quickly move around, yet they were vulnerable also for enemy attacks. So much more interesting for strategy and skill set. The skill floor in BFV is very low. And the skill ceiling is also very very low. Not much to learn. No big difference between a beginner and the most skilled player. So not very interesting really for very long.
Since BF4 I think its gone really downhill for the BF gameplay and hope the next release will bring the fun and epic moments back.
Epic fun like:
- Sniping the pilot out of the attack heli, steal it from him and fly away on his killscreen?
- Eject from your jet, drop a few C4 onto the enemy jet on your tail and blow him out of the sky?
- Sit as engineer as passenger on the little bird with your friend flying it, you fly through the tunnel between the C and D flags, while you take out an enemy tank with your RPG. All while your friend fly the heli upside down?
- Taking a low flying jet out by collapsing the antenna tower on Rogue Transmission?
- And, and... ;o)
