Battlefield 4 and 5. Unable to connect to EA servers

When I launch Battlefield 4 or Battlefield 5, it says that I am disconnected from the EA servers. When I click "Go Online", it either tries to connect for a few seconds and brings me back to the same screen, or it immediately says "Unable to connect to EA servers" and disconnects me from the internet entirely. It may be immediate, or after a few seconds, but eventually it disconnects me from the internet entirely 100% of the time. When that happens, I close the game window and my internet reconnects after a few seconds (With the game still running in the background). This problem had never happened until a couple of days ago, and I have been playing Halo: MCC on PC during this time with no connectivity issues. I have otherwise had zero connectivity issues during this time doing anything on my PC other than having Battlefield 5 or Battlefield 4 open and onscreen (again, i have no internet issues if i have the games running off screen, only onscreen). My internet speed is 40-50 Mps download and 10-20 Mps upload and my ping is about 30ms. I do not use an ethernet cable, I use a wifi card. Specs, Gigabyte b450 aorus m, ryzen 5 3600x, 16 Gb RAM, RTX 2070 Super, Wifi card is an Archer T6E. I have tried flushing the DNS. I have tried uninstalling the latest windows update. I have tried allowing Battlefield 5, Battlefield 4 and Origin through the Windows firewall. How do I fix this?

    Hi @Nutmusprime

    Have you checked to make sure the proper ports for Battlefield are open on your network? You can find more information on the required ports over at the EA Help website

    If you're able to try opening those ports please let me know if you're still having any trouble connecting afterward. Thanks!

  • I don't have access to the router settings because I'm not the one who set it up because I live in an apartment. But I tried opening the required ports in Windows firewall and it didn't work.

    EDIT: I ended up getting into the router settings. When I click on the "Port Forwarding" tab, it shows what I think is supposed to be a list (but with nothing actually in the list) and a button that says "+Add Service". I clicked the button and under service I put "Battlefield V", under type I put "TSP", under Start Port I put "80", under End Port I put "80" and under Server IPv4 I put my PC's IPv4. I tried doing this for each port listed under battlefield 4 and 5 on the link you posted, but it won't let me add any more than 7 ports to the list

    @Nutmusprime

    Got it, thanks! If you need more details on how to open the ports on your particular router/modem I'd recommend checking out the Port Forward website. They have step-by-step instructions for a huge list of different hardware.

  • I figured out out to do it. I opened all the ports listed and I still have the problem.

  • I'm still having the same issue. I did what you suggested and it didn't fix it. is there anything else I should try?

    @Nutmusprime

    Thanks for giving it a shot!

    Another step that may help is setting a static IP address in Windows. I've seen cases where that can fix similar issues. You can find more details on how to set this up over at the Port Forward website

    Please let me know how that goes if you're able to give it a try. Thanks again!

    Hi @Nutmusprime

    Thank you for giving that a shot as well.

    Would you mind running a UOTrace when you've got the chance? That will give us a detailed look at the connection between your home network and the servers, so if there's something happening along the way we should be able to spot it.

    For more details on how to run the test check out the EA Help website. Look for the section on that article titled How to Run a UOTrace. Once you have the results please send them to me in a direct message

    Thanks!

    /Kent
