Most likely the culprit is the Definitive Edition itself. That has an longstanding issue where Company Coins aren't awarded for ranking up until after rank 21. Seemingly EA Help also can't see the coins as missing on their side, so can't award them. There's a bit of information about it in the "Item Acquisition" section of the BFV FAQ:

However, they should be able to provide missing cosmetics and assignments, so I'd recommend going back to them about those items.
