A couple of troubleshooting steps to try: 

  1. Run Windows Update and install any available updates.
  2. In the EA app, click into the game and then choose Manage and then Repair.

    Unfortunately, the game still crashes on startup with error code 0xC000009A.

        Thank you. I have some troubleshooting steps for you.

        Disable or otherwise remove any/all of the following ASUS utilities: 

        1. Armoury Crate
        2. AI Suite
        3. ASUS DriverHub
        4. Aura/RGB utilities
        5. Other ASUS monitoring/tuning tools

         

        Run Command Prompt as Administrator then run these commands:

        DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

        then:

        sfc /scannow

        Uninstall and reinstall EA Javelin anticheat :

        Perform a clean boot before retrying the game
