FWIW, it's not considered a bug
From a Dev posted on another forum:
"There is not a sock bug, the color of the sock 90% of the time is for the base layer color of the socks, if you see a team with 3 white socks with different names, the base layer (if a player chooses to wear them) is the color of the sock being called out."
so if the individual player has the equipment option for the base layer sock, it'll be that color.
That makes zero sense. Socks and base layers are two different things. That response sounds extremely lazy.
