[Feedback] Gameplay (MAJOR ISSUES)

Major concerns that have high impact on gameplay:

Offensive Line vs Defensive Line (if nothing else gets fixed, this is a MUST as it ruins gameplay)

- Offensive line constantly overpowers and pushes the defensive line around.  There shouldn't be lanes to run all the time, especially the size they are doing now.

- Passing formations look spread out.  Large gaps show between Linemen

- Running formation look the same at times.  the offensive line spreads out  the defensive line and you have these gaping holes that with no defensive player close.  very unrealistic

- Defensive End fail to contain edge like the position is responsible.  Constantly try inside moves when QB or RB are running outside opening up the edge to big plays.

- Overpowered (holding) blocking by the offense.  they grab and hold onto the defense even when the offensive player is running to the backside of the defender creating HUGE plays when it shouldn't be and overall blocking in general.  WR's should not have that great blocking skills.  there should be more block shedding rather than the wr pinning down the defensive players by grabbing them and holding them in one spot.  this is exactly what i hated and still hate about Madden.

- Defensive line keying on offensive lineman and ignores everything else.  They will continue to engage their blocks no matter where the ball carrier is and won't shed and start pursuing the runner until he is already past time with no shot at making any kind of play.

Short yardage plays

- wr screens and hb screens constantly get massive gains with no opposition.  could also be because the defense has no contain in the game as noted above.

- lb's seem to drop back too far giving a mass of yardage between them and the line of scrimmage.  they are line BACKERS.  they shouldn't be dropping at all really. this is giving underneath route wide open plays with no resistance

- TE's are always open just like HB's.  there is a lack of coverage there.

CB Play

- i see quite a bit where the wr stops running their route and the cb just sits there about 5 yards away from the wr incapable of any attempt to break up the pass...and they don't

- tackles are issues with CB as they fail to tackle and constantly get shrugged off for long TD's.

That's really the only gameplay issues that i see.  it's not a very long list so you did a good job!  Just one blaring issue in my book.  the offensive and defensive line play. i know you want a wide open game, but, with the issues above it becomes too wide open of a game. it's all offense unless you get a turnover.  there is no stopping the offense unless you stop yourself. If you can tighten up the areas above, i think the game in whole would be considered one of the best games out there.  as it sits, i cannot consider it that way.  i think the game will become more frustrating than fun.  thank you!

Offensive players have looked way too fast on content drops, and they can juke/spin 6 feet away from defenders. I get they don’t want the game to be “clunky” like Madden but the offense moves too smooth. It should be hard to score against a good defense. It’s more fun that way. More rewarding. If somehow they can tune the offenses down and the defenses up, this game will be amazing.

    Everything else looking pretty good.

  • TEs and RBs being uncoverable has been an issue since Madden '01, when I started playing and I've never seen a year of Madden or NCAA where TEs weren't overpowered. At this point EA doesn't care or can't fix it.

RB screens and outside runs usually waffle between brokenly consistently (like Madden the pas few years) or useless because the pursuit/shedding is so good. They never get this right either.

People complained about blockers not making giant holes every play so a few years ago EA "listened" by making run blocking stupid good and lineman/wr run blocking stats not matter. People don't realize lineman blocking perfectly every time results in 10+ yards far too often and 6-8 ypc averages. I guess our only choice is to mess with the sliders, but doing so usually breaks other things so good luck.

EA used to tweak the game every year between the two so at least it felt a little different, but they've stopped doing even that. So I guess is TE deep crosses on 4th and long and never punt as usual lol. EA never changes.
