Genuinely Curious - Buying the Next Game?

With as many issues as the game seems to have- the terrible updates that EA has made and/or the general lack of support, and my least favorite of all, not being able to edit players is beyond stupid. I feel like EA took advantage of fans who wanted a CFB game back and the evident lack of support from EA to fix or provide timely support just adds to that claim. So I am curious who is actually going to buy next year's game? I will not give this company another penny until we get full control. They are terrible at roster updates and player updates, and generally, the game has been lackluster, I have not played the game itself in over a month because it just is not that good in my opinion.

@FatThorLilHammer I didn’t even buy the game this year. Was so excited to get it but once I started to see the reviews coming in I held off. Some bugs here and there at launch could be expected but this many months later and I’m still hearing about issues.

Plus, the outright lies from the get go about editing players or team builder. Not being able to use team builder in offline dynasty is why I still haven’t purchased the game. If that’s not remedied I will never buy the game.

One thing I will add that gives me some hope. When the Xbox 360 came out I remember the first NHL game was pretty rough on the new consoles. There was no customization at all, it was one of the worse NHL games. Its main feature was introducing the skill stick which was a positive change in the long run. But then from ‘08-‘10 the game improved dramatically.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure that will happen as all EA games have stagnated since around 2014ish because they no longer had 2K to compete against.

  • @FatThorLilHammerI didn't buy CFB25. I really enjoy the series, and have looked forward to a follow-up for 10 years, but with the limitations that folks posted about (including not being able to do couch co-op dynasty, unless something has changed or I'm mis-remembering) I don't have a plan to get it. Maybe I will borrow it from my local library for free and play through a season or something.

edit: looks like the couch co-op piece was bugged for a time but apparently works now. Although I don't know if there's unique colors per controller to know who is who now?

  • I will likely buy again next year. However, I won't pre-order.

I want to see what changes they make to dynasty. There is no excuse for not giving us a deeper and more authentic experience next year.

With that said, I think the gameplay is going to be really polished next year so that will likely draw me in.

  • I, like a huge amount of people, bought to simply do offline dynasties.  That mode actually worked better at launch. Everything they've done since messed up simple functionality like scoreboard (down & distance) disappearing during a Sim or play the moments. It's not once been a priority to fix in the sequential updates.  Play the moments is simply unplayable since you're choosing a play or choosing to jump in without even knowing the score or down/distance. All the other focuses have obviously been on a pay to play model and frankly I just want to be able to build a dynasty, recruit realistically, and build a coach to God level....so far they've missed that mark which is the mark of all CFB in prior years.  Do better.

  • After the barebones buggy mess they hyped up this year, doubt it. Haven't bought madden in few years either.

I've played 700+ hours of CFB25, and yes I plan on buying CFB26.

I can see now, after all the time with the game, that there are a TON of little bugs. I think the game really could have benefited from a private beta.
