Is Coach mode working as intended?

I am curious if this is their idea of a coaching mode?  The lack of action on the part of the players does not seem to be working as intended. 

The lack of movement, scrambling on the part of the QB is unrealistic.  The QB also does not seem to be capable of running an option at all.  

I have always liked seeing what I have built more than trying to rack up stacks due to my ability.  Does EA intend to address this?
