The amount of people playing online had to head for the first week is way down from save the normal madden users because there is no custom playbook. That’s the whole point of a custom playbook so you have a familiarity with your schemes. Who wants to just pick a random playbook they have to go against sophisticated defense is a load of crap and EA sports need to fix it. I won’t be playing this until this is patched
Yep.. and it's either you choose a default playbook and chance them having their own custom playbook or have a higher probability of a desync.. it needs fixed asap. It's also the main fix I'm waiting on before starting my online dynasty.. doesn't seem like this should be THAT hard of a fix.. but it's turning a lot of people off from the game..
@breezecool81This was a huge disappointment for me. I got the game for online H2H and all we got were 3 minute quarters and lack of customization. You can't even pick your uniforms or playbook in online h2h, what a joke!
The reason you can't use custom playbooks and it makes sense is that people would build exploits on certain playbooks and use them with every team. Like not all teams use the option's, then you would see a team like Texas running the option all game. It makes sense not to do this
Spot on my friend! I’ve been calling for this for years. I like that the playbooks are team specific. Play true to your teams tendencies.

first couple days i played with unlv because im from las vegas. but everyone plays with alabama or georgia.. no fun
I agree online H2H is dead but not because of the playbooks. It's because it's BUGGY AF on many levels.
1. Can't change and save Depth Charts. HUGE oversight. That should've been fixed at launch.
2. Defensive Auto Switch. Doesn't work half the time. For some reasons in these games it's defaulted at "off" and when you change it, it still doesn't work.
3. The whole "tiers" thing isn't accurate. You've got multiple Top 10 teams in Tier 2. Which is B.S. IDK bout you, but I'm sick of playing Georgia and glitchy arse Judkins from Ohio State every other game. There's no way to "opt out" of a game when you don't wanna play vs these Top 2 games before the game loads. You're stuck.
4. Unable to change kickoff time. Who wants to play at 12 high every game? I don't. Can we get some night game in online?
5. Did I mention the Depth Charts? C'mon EA...get it together. Smdh
Game is hot garbage. Playbooks are jacked the F up and not even accurate for the school i play with and cant customize basic * formations into the playbook. rosters are wrong. Online play is broken. People just cheese online with Bama OSU or Georgia. Tiers are all messed up. This game has been a massive dissapointment.

Online play is broken for sure. The Defense is so bad that its Offensive. Bad tackling and horrid angles the defenders take
