OU-TX Visual Issue

OU Fan here, the Red River Rivalry is *almost* perfect. The fans being split down the middle is spot on but the Texas fans are on the OU side and vice versa. If you know anything about this rivalry you should know you don’t want burnt orange in your own seat.

  • Also as an OU fan...I can't help but notice that the game shows Texas beating OU in 2023, 34-30 during a quick play match. And the commentators even comment on what a heartbreaker that game was for OU. 😂

  • Texas fan here, and I started a second season in my Dynasty and the RRR is at DKR, with no way to flip it back to the Cotton Bowl. Nope nope nope.

Also, why does no one try on the Golden Hat after winning the game?

I have also noticed the incorrect reporting of the 2023 ou texas score.  It was OU's biggest win of the season, and UT's only regular season defeat.  And the fools at EA couldn't get it right.

Don't cheat OU out of its biggest win of the year.  We beat them, and EA acts like we didn't win the game.  For a Sooner fan, that's really irritating.

I know that you asked for a screenshot from @ThomasEaton62 and not from me, but I am posting this screenshot because it relates to one of the items discussed in this thread:  Namely, the incorrect reporting of the result of last year's OU versus Texas game.  The scoreboard, and the announcers as well, both say Texas won 34-30.  They actually lost to OU by that same score.

I can understand that there are a number of bugs in this game that need to take priority over fixing this ridiculously incorrect reporting of a historical fact, but at the same time I just want to make it clear that any OU fan who sees that score posted is going to take issue with it.

It was our best game of the season.  EA shouldn't be allowed to just take it away like that.

  • Today. Last year's score is still wrong and the fans are on the wrong sides of the field. Team's respective bands are not in the end zones either. No Golden Hat ceremony during the actual Red River rivalry game. The Golden Hat only happens when you play OU-Texas outside of the rivalry game itself.

  • Sorry for the late response but here is a screenshot. After doing some quick testing it seems like the away team is always in OU’s side of the field. I haven’t personally gotten the announcer bug yet but a lot of the people are talking about it. Also, each schools band is supposed to be past the end zone on their respective side of the stadium. I understand if this isn’t possible but man would it be cool.

Several issues have been identified with the OU-Texas game. The score from last year's game is displayed incorrectly at the beginning, and the commentators also report it inaccurately. This error occurs in both quick play and dynasty modes. Additionally, the arrangement of fans alternating between the south and north sides of the stadium is incorrect. In actual games, fans consistently occupy the same sections each year: OU fans are always on the south side, while Texas fans are on the north side. The placement of the bands is also inaccurate. These issues have been noted before.

Additionally, fans are often observed performing the 'horns up' and 'horns down' gestures, symbolic of the OU-Texas rivalry, or Texas-OU, depending on the fanbase. While it is understood that players may not perform these gestures during celebrations, their inclusion among fans is a staple of the game experience, often highlighted by broadcasters who feature children from opposing sides making the signs.

It is acknowledged that the game includes many accurate details, and EA has done well in various aspects. However, for such an iconic event as the Red River Rivalry, it is expected that a greater effort would be made to ensure the game's portrayal is true to its storied history.
