Playing at UCONN - FSB Independents explained for a noob please

So I played a season as a QB at UConn but didn't make post-season with a 9-4 record, I have seen other teams in playoffs with this record though?

It also shows 0-0 next to conference record when I definitely played UMass and there was no conference final.

Is this not integrated in the rest of the league properly, can UConn make it to finals and progress or should I pick someone else now?

Relative newcomer to the sport / college rules as a brit so any help would be great thanks!

  • Independents are exactly what they say, independent. They exist outside of all conferences and are not in league with each other either. That is why they can schedule anyone they want without restrictions. Also records in college aren't treated equally. 11-0 in the SEC is looked at a lot differently than 11-0 in the Sun Belt due to the talent gap in college. UConn is also a historically bad program so they aren't going to get favorable treatment in the polls with 4 losses. IRL I don't think a single real team with 4 losses will make the playoffs but EA's polling logic is very bad in this game.
