If the standard is for a modern system to play on, then how was PC not an option?
@EA_IlliumWish there a thumbs down for replies like this lol

Hey @Spartacoitus
Thanks for sharing the feedback I understand the frustration.
We can pass the feedback on to the team for them to be aware of players who want to see College Football make an appearance on PC.
However, at this time we do not have any information available if PC ports will arrive.
Thanks!
@EA_Illium Sigh...............................why do yall hate us PC players so much?
OK i will cancel my ea play until this game comes to PC, trash decision
nah you have a whole community who waited 10 years for this just to screw them all over i will not be buying madden this year either due to this ridiculous stunt its really a shame that its 2024 and companies are still choosing favorites when it comes to titles. if you wont make a pc version then may aswell not make a version of madden for it either. EA has potentially lost them selves a huge chunk of sales and community from this stuff. im not going to go spend 500 dollars to play a 60 dollar game.
- @osmanthus24 About to do the same thing
Does not make any sense that in 2024 when Madden is on PC, College Football would not also be on PC. This is a direct slap in the face to the PC community and makes no sense. EA is saying it will be on Modern Consoles as if PCs are not modern enough when typical modern PCs are better than modern consoles.

If you think about it, Madden 24 was also released on old generation consoles (PlayStation 4, Xbox One) which makes sense to keep it in the PC community. I think that some people may be overreacting to the fact that it isn't playable on PC this year. This doesn't mean that College Football 26 and so forth won't be. EA is just now getting back into things with this series and definitely do not want their game to be broken and not prepared. You could see this years release as a "test" for 2026.
- @Braddmxn False assumption there. If sales are only on Nexgen consoles and not PC or non-Nexgen consoles, and EA looks at their sales numbers with the blinkers of a typical unthinking accountant and sees sales figures well below expectations. What do you think these blinkered accountants are going to suggest? If you did not say, "Kill the game to cut costs," then you have not experienced the thirty years of EA marketing and business decisions that some of us have.

Which is why I said in my latest response that you could look at this game as a test for next years edition. No one is saying that this game will never come to the PC community, but unfortunately for this year, it more than likely won't be there even after release on current generation consoles.
- @Braddmxn, please try to be clear. You are correct that a successful (meaning profitable) launch on consoles only will lead to further console development of the game. Profitability for College Football 25 will be tough when limiting the launch to consoles considering the gaming content market for PC is roughly 12 billion dollars greater than that of consoles and has been since 2020. Consider that Madden NFL 24 placed 9th on the list of the Monthly Active Users (MAU) list in March 2023 (courtesy of newzoo) and it is a seasonal game due to its topical link to professional football (in North America). This creates an uphill battle to profitability for the game from the get-go. We have all seen how much real improvement EA pours in their yearly re-packaging of Madden. It is my belief that revenue from whatever microtransactions and raw sales of the game will have to meet those of Madden just so EA might choose to put out the next repackaged version of College Football 25. Sales would have to exceed Madden, IMHO, to justify the investment in a PC port. EA engendered negative press by discounting the PC market, which, I believe, happens to be a good chunk of the market that played NCAA Football back in the day.
I believe quite strongly that EA's global marketing has made a myopic decision in this case (among many others over their history).
@Braddmxn I hope you are right, but I don't own a console and never have. I am not going to buy one to play a single game. I play Forza on my PC, FIFA on my PC, Sims on my PC and many other games. I am hoping against hope that EA wake up and realize how large a market they have just blown off. If I am wrong, then I would love to have EA explain that to me. - OCEANBREATHES2 years agoNew Traveler
from what i understand but what i have been hearing from matt brown and mike straw the problem why it's not coming on pc at launch is because of legal issues trying to figure out what to do about mods, but there will be a release on pc not just this year either 2026 or 2027 is the estimate right now
Ther are more players on PC, please make it make sense!
- Mareec32 years agoNew Ace@OCEANBREATHES this exact reason was posted and discussed by Matt Brown months ago. They don't want modders to put players into the game who did not opt into it. I think they'd (EA) would rather make some users upset for a year or so than miss out on an opportunity to make a game that has been longed for for over a decade.

Does the game not allow for changing players names? Likeness? Stats? Is it just teambuilder that's available? If so, then I'm sorry, you're right. But I do know that modders have very little access to do anything in Madden, so it sounds like a nonsensical excuse to avoid saying "the console companies paid us a lot of money to make it so you need a gaming console to play this game."

Please... please, please bring to PC. My PC hardware can run the game at a higher FPS, with better graphics than a PS5 or Xbox Series X.

Actually * stupid that you would do this. missing out on thousands of dollars to not sell it to PC players. Guess we can just get the emulator for free 10 days after it comes out when we would have paid for it. Braindead people at EA making dumb decisions, we should be used to it by now but guess not huh?

This game needs to be on PC. Madden does it, NBA 2k does it. This is a giant disappointment for college football fans.
Both PS and XBOX are releasing new consoles in the fall. I am not buying a console for a single game only for the console to get outdated in a year. This should be illegal.

Neither Sony or Microsoft are releasing new consoles this fall. Are you speaking of the theoretical PS5Pro? Which is a half-step jump just like the PS4Pro.
That said, I've been a preferred-PC gamer for 25 years (although having owned most of the mainstream consoles since the NES), and would prefer to play this on my PC which has far more power than a PS5 or XBSX.
I don't really appreciate you diminishing my point with nonsense, but in case you aren't trolling, XBOX is releasing an all digital model this fall and the ps5 pro is likely releasing within the year (rumors of the ps5 pro are more concrete than the all digital xbox series x which they got right). This is total negligence by EA.

Neither of those is a next-generation consoles, they are still the same generation that we are currently in. A next-generation console would be a PlayStation6 or Xbox [some stupid name] S/X. An all-digital Series X is just removing the disc drive feature of a current generation console [which makes it just a slightly more powerful series s].
The same way that the PS4-Pro was not a whole new generation console, it was an incremental upgrade over the existing PS4 at the time, but all games that released for the PS4 were also compatible with the PS4Pro, and no games were limited the other direction [to only work on a Pro, although some, for sure, worked better on it]
Why give me a straight answer for once holy moly you guys are so phenomenal at dodging questions and accountability. Why have madden 25 (and every other sports game you’ve made in the past 5 years) on pc but this singular game is not. It couldn’t be that this company is a disgrace filled with nothing but greed right?
Madden 25 is also coming to pc and that’s a next gen game so that argument goes up in smoke instantly
