Things Left Out

I'm really enjoying CF25 so far. I'm primarily a Dynasty player.

And, I'm looking forward to the notable super sim and design issues being addressed in the upcoming update.

However, I do also have thoughts about things that were in previous NCAA Football games being left out that just made the game feel more complete previously.

I don't know if any of these are patch-able issues, but if not hopefully they will be something the team would consider bringing back for next year.

1) During the game, there used to be an option to sub in your complete 2nd team offense or defense to allow some of your younger players to get experience and progress quicker.

It seems in season progression is now based more on having a "Superstar" stat line than getting experience. But, I thought allowing your 2nd team to get some snaps in during a blow out to gain experience was a great idea.

2) It's unclear how much progression takes places unless you've memorized your players stats. For instance, In the off season there is a section for "Player Progression" but it only really shows their new current value and if it went up or down. Which is pretty redundant to the roster or depth chart. As opposed to in previous years, I believe, it would reference the previous amount and tell you exactly how much it went up without you memorizing.

3) Athletes seem pointless now. When recruiting them they automatically have a type (ex - scrambler) that gives away what position they should play. And, once they've committed to your school they don't even show up in the "change position" section. They just automatically get put in their designated position when the new season starts. The fun of athletes was they could play multiple positions, possibly either side of the ball. And, then we got to choose their best spot. This current way defeats the whole purpose.

4) While not in a previous game, I'm also pretty irritated with how locked down OC and DC seem to be. I"m about 5 seasons into a Dynasty where I've take Memphis to be the #1 team in the country. As the head coach I've gained many skills and my prestige has risen a lot. And during this time, I have not changed OC or DC, but they seem to be stuck at the same prestige and level and haven't progressed at all. And, It won't let me spend points on them. Am I missing something? Shouldn't I be able to upgrade winning coaches without firing them?

5) Blow out games need to be more prevalent. Maybe this will be fixed with the super sim update. However, This is not the NFL. There shouldn't be so many upsets. For example, if the #1 team plays the number #100 team, they should more often than not, blow them out. This seems like a problem because some of the worst teams in the country are still 75 overall and some of the best are 90 overall. Maybe some of the worst teams should be more like 50 overalls.

  • I agree with you about number 1, 2, and 4! We need a way to upgrade our D and O coach! It would be nice for us to be able to go after other schools coaches. My D coach  left for another job and he was level 40 something and the only coaches I had the option to hire was level 20!

    Some good points there

however on athletes you can adjust them in the position change screen at the end/start of the next season. I think you may need to sort it or scroll.

Also I found that by going through the players on the roster in ordered the position change screen some  may better to be moved elsewhere even if they are an upper classman.  Comes in handy if you are weak in an position group too
