Why is the difficulty not balanced

Why is there such a huge difference in difference in difficulty when playing from freshman to varsity! Freshman they CPU doesn’t even try and in varsity, it’s like playing on Heisman. They know my plays they don’t give up sacks and it’s like night and day! Love the game but the balance is not there. I have to go back to freshman level because even varsity is too tough and sometimes irritating!

  • I'm sooo glad it's not just me seeing this issue... I thought it was me but obviously it's not and the issue is real!! EA get your act together!!! Fix this!  We are all paing good money for this product and we demand you fix it!!

  • @Mrhtown12 It is a little weird, but if you just play conservatively for the first few series, then it adjusts.

On varsity difficulty, early on it feels like the CPU is both telepathic and teleports around. But run the ball a pretty fair amount early on and do a couple of long drives (rather than taking aggressive shots) and then the CPU just falls apart and you can pick them apart at will.

I suspect that the "momentum/composure" aspect of the game is a bit over emphasized in the game balancing. Once you have a little bit of heat buildup and the other side is cold, everything just stampedes from there.

I suspect this is a large part of why a lot of posters are asking for in-game saves. The games are often decided in the first quarter. Get a bit of momentum in your favor early, and you're going to win by six touchdowns. Make a crucial early mistake or two and it feels like you're playing on Heisman difficulty.
