Ability to Customize Jersey Numbers

Had a thought as to how number changes could be implemented that perhaps would allow us some customization while preventing issues with NIL players, etc.

During off-season, add an extra week after the "encourage transfers" week. During this week alone, there's a "jersey number change" option to select. Going into this step brings up your current roster (which would include your recent recruiting class along with players that stayed with your program after the transfer step). Kinda like redshirts, any players that are NIL protected would be "greyed out" so you can't select them for a number change. They could even limit our number changes to once per player, per career (again like redshirts) if they needed to protect too many changes, for whatever reason I may not understand...

In any case, since the 1st time you're able to change jersey numbers would occur after Seniors from current 2024/2025 rosters would be gone, this would remove several NIL protected players and using some mechanics already available in game, they could prevent us from changing any other protected players.

Sure it's not perfect, but most compromises aren't.

Feels like this about sums up the issues, for a while now, at EA Sports. No common sense, arguably no thought process at all. 

It's in the game. It might not actually work, but it's in there. 

Stop buying this *. 

I find it ridiculously frustrating to work hard to land a solid QB 3 years into a dynasty offline and I have to play with a QB with the number #24 or some high number. Allow more customization for rando recruits at least the jersey number!

The game itself changes jersey numbers randomly, including NIL players. 

I don't think this is so much a legal issue as it is an incompetence issue. 

One SOMEWHAT of a workaround was for me, at least on my Team Builder team, on the initial website I made sure that no 2 players had the same number...that's when it seems that the computer goes nuts and starts to randomly change numbers...so, so, so dumb.  Anyway, I also then had a Punter that they created since they didn't put Kickers & Punters in the TB website.  So when my Punter got the same number as one of my WR's, I went into and edited that WR...not his number (bcuz I could only do that on the website), just anything on him like his name or uniform stuff.  This then forced the Punter's number to change.  His number THEN landed on the same number as my FS...so I edited HIM too, my FS...and in doing so, it made the Punter's number change again...I did this 3 times until my Punter landed on a number that wasn't already taken, and it was fine from there.

I know none of this is ideal, plus I'm talking about my TB team and not an offline dynasty...but it DID seem to work on TB when I didn't want doubled numbers always causing my guy's to change their numbers. Again, I know this won't work for offline, but thought I'd post this just in case anyone's trying to avoid numbers changing on the online side.

I was under the impression that it was an NIL issue at first but, then I realized that the Computer randomly changes jersey numbers of real and generated players throughout the season, it seems more like laziness on the part of the developers. Either way it needs to be fixed ASAP!

I just had two of my starters have their numbers randomly changed midway through my first year of dynasty. 

The game is bad enough already with all the other issues - Pass blocking, pursuit angels, and let's not even mention the times where your defender becomes a statue so the CPU can score. 

But on top of all that, I can't edit numbers? I can't wait to play with this new 5 star QB who gets #31 to play with...
