Re: Frustrated with dynasty

The fact that you cannot edit the appearance, rating, or even number of generic players is frustrating.

I partially understand this being in place for players that are actually in the game (even then, it’s all fiction so I don’t understand why it matters so long as EA maintains their official ratings as the default), but not being able to edit players that are completely made up is crazy.

This is one of the primary draws for game modes like NBA 2K’s Era’s mode, EA FC’s Manager mode, and Madden’s Franchise mode. You should be able to fully customize your roster and edit the look/overall of a generic player, and you cannot do that in this game, which I feel takes away from the immersion.

I agree and wish they had that option but I can live with it.  The lack of job opportunities and the recruiting issues are bigger issues for me.

I have figured out recruiting for the most part. Have had 3 straight top-5 classes at a place that has never had a class inside the top 20. In my current season, it’s week 6 and I have six 5-star’s signed and five 4-star’s. In 1st place on 11 other 4-stars.

I can potentially help you with that aspect, if you’re struggling! Let me know the details if so.

@Sgoforth5 I encounter this bug maybe once or twice a cycle, once I see it I just remove the prospect from my board and forget he existed. Move on to the next guy and don’t waste the points. I’ve signed 3 straight T3 classes with USF, just add top 10-15 players and fully scout immediately. Remove busts if you want but I’ve signed 4* busts with higher OVR than 5*s. For the top 10-15 priority guys I assign full points until I start to pull away or have multiple players at one position where I wouldn’t be too hurt to lose one. Send pitches, visits as soon as possible. More often than not you can find the right hard sell with just two green checks present. Once these guys start to commit, you’ll have those points come back in future weeks. Use that to go after depth and any 3/4* that have no offers, you can usually steal these guys pretty easy. Before you know it you’ll look and have 25-30 guys signed easy on early signing day, before adding best available from the portal which usually just end up being depth (depends on class, i’ve picked up FR transfers that have been 3 year starters) if your team is 85+ OVR.

    Major points:

Good hard sell and good visit are worth at least 1.5/2x a Send The House.

Don’t waste your time with blocking TE archetypes. They end up being 90 OVR with 45 CTH and drop everything.

Physical WR, Power RB with 90+ SPD are OP. OL/DL positions are easily interchangeable.

Don’t waste your time with DBs who have playing style deal breakers, you’ll never get enough INTs to keep them happy.

Everything is about the offers, a scholarship offer and a few hours assigned will get you fast signings if there is no interest from other teams.

Start with a decent team in a decent conference to help you learn how all of this works without getting frustrated at missing out on talent to prestigious schools. In my USF save I lost a lot of talent to UF and Miami early on, now I own FL.

@Sgoforth5 Also, I believe accepting a new job starts after the CFP Championship Game. You can play out the rest of bowl season with your current team before moving on.

Dude summed it up perfectly. Only thing I will add is my typical timeline. Below is how I approach pretty much every recruit. I usually don’t scout them until I get a few people committed, I use those point to dm players or search social media. At the end of the season, when I have a full or near full hour bank, I’ll go out and look for recommended prospects with my school in their top 3/5/8, or players from my state, and scout them to try and find green diamonds. Just landed eight 5-stars and eleven 4-stars this cycle using this method.

    1) scholarship

    2) send the house (+ contact friends and family or dm player)

    3) schedule visit

    4) hard pitch

In my 3rd season, I had easily 10+ recruits that I could not bring in for a visit even though I was in their top 5.  It was a minor issue in my first two seasons but it really became a problem in my 3rd season.

Update:  finished my 3rd season and was not offered a job after the CFB playoffs ended.  I should not be at a G5 school.  Also my prestige dropped again for no reason.

@Sgoforth5 I normally don’t get any offers after the CFB playoff either, assuming jobs are mostly filled by then even IRL. I’m saying you can accept a job in Bowl Week 1 and the new job will start after the season ends. You can finish your current season with your current team, literally saw my roommate do this yesterday.

@VOLSROCK1429 Thank you. I’ll put in another season and hope for a better offer next year. Still hope they fix the recruit visit issue.

Honestly I would just take a job before the playoffs next season. Not getting to finish it out with your current team sucks and should be a no brainer addition (along with about 50 other things) but it’s probably more realistic the other way, if that’s something you care about.

But 3 straight (or 4 now?) bowl appearances is impressive for a G5 school. What school did you start at? You ever thought about giving them a chance in a P5 conference after the consistent success?

Yeah man, throw them in the ACC or something. If a lower level school did that in real life they would’ve been invited to a bigger conference by now, they’d no doubt be bringing in an enough revenue to justify it.

If the visit option is locked out try removing the player from your board and readding him right away.. This works for me 9/10 times.

Fair, but it’s also in Boise, Idaho. There is one major conference out there. If this current conference madness was going on back when Boise was a top 25 regular, I think it would’ve happened.

Got a question about commitments, been looking for the answer all over and can’t find anything.

i haven’t figured out the correlation between when two (or more) teams tie in the same week on a commit. What’s the tiebreaker? Seems like im always on the losing end of these and don’t know why. Some clarification would be appreciated.
