Why am I getting locked out of transfers at the beginning of the portal and I am a 5 star school and I meet their deal breakers?

Could be you have maxed out the number of players you have on your team. I'd like to know why the transfer portal happens before I encourage my players to transfer so they can join the portal and I can make room.
I'd guess that they don't have you in their top 8 or whatever so therefore you are unable to recruit them. Most, if not all, of the transfers seem to start with a top 8 or top 5 in week one.
- @SubGod22 yeah its a strange design choice that really nerfs the ability to build a team primarily through the portal... imagine if recruiting was like this too.
I absolutely wouldn't mind this if the system was tweaked to be dealbreaker based with multiple dealbreakers effecting their schools.
Perhaps, we can give EA some credit here though.... maybe they automatically gave the top 8 schools that fit the prospects ideal pitch and single dealbreaker.... Maybe recruiting should be like this as well to make it less easy to be gamed. - @sdzald I would LOVE for this to be tweaked as well. Great point!
