I created a playbook and rated the plays in gameplan for every situation. Coach suggestions are the same 6 plays over and over, regardless of down/distance/situation. Also it defaults to suggesting Onside Kick every time. Makes the game unplayable until this is patched.

Not that I've seen. Pretty disappointing.
Have they even acknowledged the issue yet?
Same thing happens with my custom playbook. It might have something to do with too many plays being starred for each situation. Idk though, that's no excuse, they should tell us how many plays can be in certain situations, or just update their game to accommodate our playbooks. 500 plays isn't even a lot and they've been saying for several years that they were going to increase the upper limit on that going back to when Madden was the only game, and they haven't.
I've gotten around it by going into practice and setting a bunch of plays as my favorites. Usually only a couple from each formation, then I can go into no huddle and be able to call any play from that set as the next play. Either that or I've been using the play types to find a play that fits the situation. It's not great and when coach suggestions actually work that system is far better. But as of right now the coach suggestions do not work so this is the best alternative. I'm so glad I wasted 5 hours adding plays and rating every single one of them /s
EA released their Campus Huddle for the next Title Update, and naturally there's no mention of this being fixed.
Just a massive disappointment. So many dudes put in many hours, with multiple threads being some of the most liked threads in 2 different sections here, and EA can't add it to this big patch or just give us some kind of update here...

Yeah this is extremely irritating. I spent probably 6 hours over the course of a week getting my playbook set up before playing a down. Custom playbooks has always been the best part of the game for me dating back to the early 2000’s. I know they’ll fix it eventually, but c’mon EA. Be better.
Any progress here gentlemen?
It’s so frustrating spending all that time in a custom book for it to not work at all. Needs fixed ASAP
