I hope EA can fix the depth charts, specifically on defense. The way that it is set up, it makes sense if you run a base 4-3. But for players like me who prefer 4-2-5 or 3-3-5 Tite, the depth charts can be confusing and misleading. For example, in the base 4-2-5 personnel, the Mike and Sam positions in the depth chart are useless. I recruit very specific types of defensive players, and I run my defense a certain way. I would like my Mike LB and my Will LB to be in certain spots, and it is too difficult to put them in those spots. In contrast, the 3-3-5 Tite defense uses those positions the way I would like to use them. But in both defenses, the Sam position in the depth chart is useless. I also am very particular in the type of player that I recruit to play the "Star" position (in the 4-2-5, it is Strong Safety #1 in the depth chart, but for some reason in the 3-3-5 Tite, it is Strong Safety #2). Would it be too hard to create a specific Star position in the defensive depth chart, one in which we can play any LB or defensive back (like the Gadget position for offense)? Sometimes, when there are injuries in-game, the replacement will come in and it is not the player or the type of player that I want at that spot. But because of the way the depth chart is set up, we have to put 3 players for those 2 spots, and any one of those players will play both spots. Also, I do not need 5 spots for DTs in the depth chart. Can we get a DT position for 3 spots to go along with the 3 spots for the NT position? Because, again, I recruit very specific types of players for those 2 positions. Everything else with the depth charts are fine. I just wish the depth charts we specific to the defensive playbook that you choose. I love the game, and I look forward to a better CFB 27!
