Inside run game!

Is it me or is everyone unable to establish a run game inside? It seems like the lineman don’t block the middle LB and he always shoots the gap. I’ve managed to climb to all American and they sprinkle in opponents from Heisman I’ve noticed. So that means all I play against is Nickel double mug every game. It’s so congested in the middle till you can’t run. Please fix the run game. Only glitchy plays work

  • yes i play on all american and it is definitely impossible to get a run game established.Since the last update it has seem to have gotten worse. Im going against a team who's ovr defense is a 66 and my offense is an 88 yet I cant run the ball on the inside or outside cause my oline cant block to save their lives and a team with a 66 ovr def has become the second coming of the 2001 Baltimore Ravens defense😒🤦

  • Yeah, I agree it's definitely tougher than last year. A few things I have learned that help though:

1 - don't use the sprint button until you are past the D-line of possible. For whatever reason they seem to have coded the game to make defenders shed blocks as soon as you press sprint.

2 - Pre-snap, look at the blocking assignments with LT + left on the right stick. It helps to see who pulling lineman are going to try to block and cut behind them. I do find it frustratingly inconsistent though with pulling guards sometimes going for a linebacker and other times going for DE

yeah i definitely appreciate tips, but ive been doing all that since 25. Looks like its the blocking logic on the offensive side (is bad) meanwhile the cpu sniffs every run play out and overpowers your linemen (regardless of badges) ...like I said after this latest patch it has seem to have gotten worse. A 66 ovr defense shouldn't be this lockdown. I know if its unbearable on AA difficulty then its probably insane on Heisman.

  • Yo, after like 100 games with Texas I felt the same way and then something just clicked yesterday. Look at the blocking play art and make sure you're following blockers and not just where the plat art recommends

I came in here looking for a thread speaking on this. It is really prevalent when you play on Heisman against the computer. When I play online, I don’t have as many issues establishing a run. But what I see against the CPU is lineman never getting to the second level. Double teams never climb to the second level. If they do, they don’t stick on blocks. It’s like the AI linebackers trigger immediately on the run and go untouched 98% of the time. The game knows where the offensive lineman are supposed to go based on the matchups tool but they just never get there. And when you play defense against the CPU, they get those blocks. The offensive lineman on double teams, climb to the second level. If you’re playing linebacker on road to glory, the double team will get to you. You don’t just get to run free like the Heisman AI linebackers. That tells me the game is capable of blocking the right people, but they are dummying out user offensive lineman to create more difficulty and force users to pass more than they should have to in a college simulation football game.
