Does anyone know how the Sam and Will LBs line up to different offensive formations? Does the Sam always go to the TE side or to the Passing Strength (multiple WR side)?
That distinction or option would be an awesome quality of life improvement. Similar to how they have the safety alignment coaching adjustment, they should make this an adjustment.
The Sam aligns with the running strength (so where the tight end, or most tight ends are. Also has to do with guys in the back field like a fullback) so think Strength and Sam starts with “S” The Will aligns with the weak side so essentially opposite if the Sam. So you want a stronger more physical player at Sam, and a more athletic coverage based guy at Will.
That's what it's supposed to be but I don't think the game actually alines players that way. Seems like the name is changed, but it is still the traditional ROLB and LOLB
