Please Add Full Coach Assignment Control and Improve Coaching Carousel Logic
I appreciate all the work that went into College Football 26, but the coaching carousel system is severely limited and needs major improvement to give players the control and immersion expected in a true dynasty mode.
Right now, the system only allows users to take jobs that are “offered,” and there is no way to manually assign coaches (real or custom) to teams of your choice. This causes major problems:
- Unrealistic or broken coaching hires
- No way to fix poor carousel logic
- No option to role-play or simulate realistic coaching careers
- Workarounds (creating/retiring coaches) eventually break the game and soft-lock Dynasties from continuing
Here are a few things that would greatly improve the experience:
- Manual Coach Assignment — Let us assign any coach to any team at any time (user-created or CPU), similar to how roster editing works.
- Open Job Market View — Show all open coaching positions and allow us to apply or fill them freely.
- Full Staff Control — Let users hire and fire Head Coaches, Coordinators, and eventually Position Coaches at will, not just through limited off-season options.
- Better Coaching Logic — Improve how the AI makes hires/fires, and base coaching moves more on realistic performance and prestige.
- Editor or Transfer Tool — Include a built-in feature to move coaches manually without having to retire or restart.
Dynasty mode has so much potential, but right now, the lack of control over the coaching carousel makes it frustrating and often immersion-breaking. Please consider adding these features in a future update or in next year’s game. Many players want more freedom and realism in shaping the coaching landscape.

Dear EA Sports College Football Team,
First, thank you for all the hard work that went into College Football 26. The return of Dynasty mode is a huge milestone, and I appreciate the detail and ambition behind the game's foundation.
However, one of the most important systems—the coaching carousel—feels too limited and restrictive, and it significantly undermines immersion and long-term playability. To fully unlock the potential of Dynasty Mode and allow players to simulate realistic college football universes, we need more control and smarter coaching logic. Current Issues:
- Users can only accept coaching jobs that are "offered" — there’s no way to apply for jobs or manually assign coaches.
- Unrealistic hires and coaching movement often break immersion and dynasty realism.
- Role-playing or simulating a coach’s career is extremely limited.
- Workarounds like retiring/recreating coaches often lead to bugs or soft-locking the Dynasty mode.
Suggestions for Improvement:
- Manual Coach Assignment
Allow users to assign any coach (real, created, or CPU) to any team at any time — just like we can edit rosters or depth charts. - Open Job Market View
Let us view all available coaching openings and apply or assign coaches directly, even during the offseason or mid-season if applicable. - Full Coaching Staff Control
Empower players to hire and fire Head Coaches, Coordinators, and (eventually) Position Coaches independently, rather than relying only on offseason prompts or AI decisions. - Smarter Coaching Logic
Improve AI decision-making based on team performance, coach prestige, and realistic movement patterns. Avoid illogical hires or firings. - Built-In Editor or Transfer Tool
Add a simple in-game tool to move coaches between schools without retiring or recreating them, reducing the chance of game-breaking bugss
College Football 26 has immense potential to become a gold standard for sports simulation. Dynasty mode could be a dream sandbox for fans who love realism, storytelling, and long-term progression — but right now, the coaching system is a bottleneck.
Please consider expanding these features in a future update or in CFB 27. A deeper, more customizable coaching carousel would go a long way in meeting the community’s expectations and elevating Dynasty to the next level.
Thank you for listening to the community!
Sincerely,
A Dedicated Dynasty Player
