I agree that wear and tear is a good idea. The issue is that players don’t recover their season or career wear and tear. If you sit a guy for a week or two then they should get better. They don’t have to heal all the way but they should heal some. They way it is now they just get to a point and never recover. That’s not realistic. Literally a guy can dislocate an ankle and come back fully refreshed in 9 weeks. Yet you can effectively lose a guy for the season bc of wear and tear. That doesn’t make sense. How can you recover from a broken bone but not recover from standard wear and tear? So, in my opinion, wear and tear needs to replenish with time off just like every other injury. Maybe if you have a minor injury it stays as is and if you injure again it gets worse or something like that but it should heal somewhat. Hopefully that makes sense
