My question is:
Why aren't EA offering a discount on the C & C Remastered Collection, to owners of the Ultimate Collection.
If I bought the Remastered Collection, then I would effectively be buying some of the C & C games again.
It should be right that I get some sort of discount.
With no discount offered, I will be waiting till I can get the Remastered Collection at a reduced price from game key stores.
Yet again, EA you do not get my money.

The originals are not free. I believe Tiberian Sun was made free at one point. But I believe the others weren't free. The point is that I paid good money for the Ultimate C & C Collection. With it currently being £24.99 on Origin. If you don't have Origin Access. So if I was to buy the Remastered Collection, I would be buying some of the games again. I believe EA should offer some discount to owners of the Ultimate Collection because of this.
I would imagine giving such a discount would result in a giant waste of time and resources. First of all, people have the games on many platforms, you can't give a discount to people using Origin without giving it to others or have a bunch of people complain. Secondly is the hordes of people with old disks, serial keys etc. - they will have a bunch of issues getting their games added to Origin, for most if not all it will be impossible and they will complain and the rest will need help. Third, such a discount would make people who want to experience C&C for the first time to feel cheated that they don't get a discount and will make them not buy the game.
In short, IMO giving people that played the original games would be a nice gesture, but an impractical expensive gesture not resulting in any more sales.

When Bioware did the remasters of Bioshock 1 & 2, they gave them free to owners that had the original games on Steam & Bethesda Launcher.
I doubt they would have done this if they thought it would impact sales.
Its just typical of greedy EA to force owners of the originals into buying them again.
Give it a few months & the remastered collection will be less than £10 from game key sites.
I will wait.
You cannot compare Bioshock with C&C. Bioshock was released when Steam was already a thing. C&C however is 12 years older than Bioshock.
In short, it's easy to compare one remaster with another, but they are more often than not completely different.

Command & Conquer 1, Red Alert 1 and Tiberian Sun are all freeware. They are only included in The Ultimate Collection for the sake of completeness.
There was a free giveaway of Red Alert 2 on Origin at one point, in their "On The House" feature, but that was only temporary; that one was never actually made freeware.
I too have purchased the games... more than once. Does that make asking $20.00 (US) for this remaster a rip off? I don't think so. Consider all the work put into remastering the games included. Not just the art work but the music and EVA, the videos, side bar, etc. etc. Origin and the other companies involved still need to make money, and the folks who put in all the work need to be compensated. $20.00 for the two games, their add-ons, and the console maps/missions is (in my opinion) more than reasonable. I paid my $20.00, and was happy to do so.

The Remastered Version being £17.99 is definitely a bit much, so I will say it would have been better and more of a promotion thing if they had of made it lower cost to those who've proven themselves loyal, especially as most of those buying the game are Veterans of over 20 Years. Myself and @GENERALZOOL included, since growing up with the game for that time. Been playing Command and Conquer for so long, that I would easily say that I've clocked up at least 10,000 Hours. Considering that there is 8766 Hours in a full Year, taking into account the quarter of a day that is not usually counted, that is a lot of hours. Most of those on Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge.
I wouldn't be so mad if the game had all of the craftsmanship that should have been present from day one. Since the game has its flaws, and some of those flaws are rather intense, for the time being, I'm still playing the Original Release from 1995-1996 (PC releases) and 1997 (PS1 releases). Yes, I own the Discs for PS1, and have it on PSN as well for PS3 (still got a PS3 to play it on).
