C&C Remastered

Shortly after starting GDI Mission 7 I had built a few buildings and was attacked from the south by flamethrowers and rocket men. I fought them off but a helicopter brought more. I fought them off too but it suddenly stated I had failed the mission and terminated the game. Why??

  • @Murff576 You need to read the mission briefing. You are tasked with protecting the civilians in the village in the lower left corner. If too many of them die, you lose.

The simplest way to defend against the helicopters is to put your rocket launchers or some bazookas near where they land.

Note that the Hospital is owned by you, so you can build some sandbags off that to put defences in strategic positions in the village.

  • Thanks Nyerguds, I certainly missed that bit. Note to self: RTFI

@Murff576 This is a really, really tough mission, though. They tweaked the civilians in the Remaster to no longer dumbly suicide in the tiberium, but it's still insanely hard to keep them alive. Make sure to keep some decent defenses in that village.

One hint I can give: if you force-move a vehicle onto a non-hostile civilian, it will make the civilian move out of the way of your tank. You can kind of use that to herd them into more secure locations / out of harm's way, but since they constantly wander around randomly it's still more like herding cats than like a military evacuation ordering people to hide in safe shelters. Most people prefer to just sandbag all the civilians into the lower left corner, and while I'm generally not a fan of sandbag tactics to abuse the AI's inability to destroy them, in this case it's pretty justified, since this mission is really poorly designed.

  • Thanks for the tips Nyerguds, I'm certainly struggling with juggling my areas of attention and corralling the Civvies is a good idea.
